The Numbers Rise At Gallus
The EM 280 press has now over 35 installations across
India.
Gallus EM 280 presses
are available in two versions with individual mechanical and servo
drives. Features like auto register control, screen printing,
foil stamping, booklet labels, multi-web and many more are available
in-line with the operation. Witnessing 35 installations in India,
the press has been in demand at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad,
Indore and Nagpur in West India. In North India, it has been installed
at New Delhi, East India at Kolkata and in South at Bangalore,
Hyderabad and Coimbatore. The reason this press is a popular choice
within the country is that it offers the versatility of a basic
configuration for commodity flexo printing at high speeds and
can also be upgraded for more complex inline multi-process applications.
Coming A Long Way
Since its first machine delivery to the country many years ago,
Gallus has been supplying printing presses to India in ever increasing
numbers and with ever increasing technology demands. “It
is not only through the efficiency and flexibility of the product
portfolio that has resulted in an unprecedented relevant market
share of almost 40 percent, but the professional support of our
cooperation with Heidelberg,” said Heinrich Sutter, Vice
President Asia Pacific, Gallus. Since this alliance in 1999, Gallus,
together with Heidelberg has constantly met the demand of this
region for immediate service, operational efficiency, effective
workflow and the development of new applications.
Commenting on the progress
Indian Label Industry has made over the years, Sutter said, “The
industry has seen a transition from stickers to labels. Branding
and packaging have evolved in cohesion. Moreover, the print buyers
have changed over to label applicators from traditional hand applied
process in production. This has not only improved productivities
but also helped improve the package décor.”
Samir Patkar, Business
Head – Web Converting and Consumables, Heidelberg India
feels that the success of Gallus lies in its approach towards
the customers. “We need to continue rewarding our customers
for their trust by keeping our promise to deliver top-quality
products and service,” he said.
