Imaje and Markem Join Hands
As a consequence of the combination of Markem Corporation, USA and Imaje S.A., Imaje India, will now be known as Markem-Imaje India. The newly combined business now called Markem-Imaje, have become the world’s largest product identification solutions provider. The business will be uniquely positioned to provide a comprehensive range of marking and coding solutions for packaging industry customers around the world.
“For many reasons, this integration makes sense not only for Markem and Imaje, but for customers as well”, states Omar Kerbage, President, Dover’s Product Identification Group. “Markem and Imaje had always maintained a cordial competitive relationship that grew closer in 2006 when Markem joined Dover– Imaje’s corporate parent. Starting last December, the senior management teams of Markem and Imaje have been discussing opportunities for cooperation between the two companies. The conclusion was to form one business in order to increase the value provided to both our customers and shareholders,” he adds. The combination will create significant benefits like increase in product breadth, technology leadership and global reach. In India Imaje has been operating as a 100 percent subsidiary of Imaje SA since 1998 and is now a dominant player in continuous ink jet, laser jet and large character printers.
