Flex’s Latest Offering
Automatic Collar Type FFS Machine
When we talk about the packaging machine the attention of all is immediately drawn to Form Fill & Seal (FFS) segment of the machine. Infact if we look into the history then this is the machine, which brought the automation into the field of packaging industry. Over passage of time the endeavour has been to have higher speed so as to work out economy of scale, as productivity is the buzzword in the modern times.
Keeping above in mind R&D team of Flex Engineering Limited has been working on development of Form, Fill & Seal machine since its inception. Flex is the pioneer in bringing out this machine in India. Further adding to its success, the company has come out with a very high-speed machine named Form, Fill & Seal Machine Model Flex - FFS CT SD.
Debashis Dey, Regional Manager, Flex Engineering Limited, says, “This machine is an intermittent motion machine designed for the efficient packing of various products like Tea, Sugar, Spices, Snack Foods, Wafers, Detergent, Henna Powder, Salt, Wrapper Candies, Cheese Biscuits etc. in center seal pouches. This machine packs upto 120 bags/min with length from 65 mm-270 mm and width from 65 mm-190 mm.”
The system provides excellent web tracking and reproducible longitudinal seams resulting in very efficient use of film. The sealing of all bag seams is done while the film is stationary, with cutting of the finished bag at the same time. Dosing of product takes place while the cross seam jaws are closed to minimize stress on the bottom seam.
The cross sealing jaw is driven by mechanically coupled with servo drive. The cutter is providing and applying through pneumatic cylinder. The system is controlling through PLC system. The design of the cross, seam jaw system allows to run a wide range of different films with efficient and economic output. The machine is available in heat seal as well as various types of laminates.
Control of all function of the machine is accomplished by means of a commercially available programmable logic controller (PLC). Operator interface to the machine via a simple, well organized membrane keypad with a 4-line text display (Touch Screen). For dosing of a wide range of products, the machine can be combined with various dosing systems such as weighers, auger fillers, cup fillers, counters and others.
